Regardless of a few days of exceptional rain and thunderstorms the Algarve has enjoyed its usual good golfing weather. Unfortunately, this unwelcome spate of weather in October was badly timed to occur just as the European Tour Portugal Masters commenced. The result was that our major event was finally reduced to a winner over only 36 holes. On the first day Nicolas Colsaerts carded a round of 60 and just one stroke short of setting a record in European Tour events. Alexander Levy lay close behind scoring a solid 63 on his round. However, on the second day Levy recorded a round of 61 and Colsaerts a 67 thus placing the Frenchman on top position of the leaderboard to eventually win the Algarve Masters. The third day was subject to rain and some thunderstorms whilst on the final day the weather made sure the course was completely unplayable. Our courses have enjoyed a busy end to the this years season and we are already handling many bookings for 2015 for next spring, summer and autumn for players seeking their most comfortable tee times.

The weather for the last three weeks has only enhanced the great reputation of the Algarve as a perfect destination for golfers. In fact, some brief drops of rain may be something that most Algarvian Green keepers would now possibly welcome! As we move into the time of year when the light does not fade until around 20.00 hours, the less expensive Twilight rates could be attractive to some golfers. - on some courses the rate for the hire of a buggy may also be reduced.

Tuesday, 1/Apr/2014
Now we have entered our high season for golf with the Algarve courses enjoying their usual popularity, late bookings usually do not have a large variety of choice in choosing their tee times. The fairways and the greens having enjoyed enough rain and are all in good shape. These factors combined with our Algarve weather will go a long way to making your golfing holiday most enjoyable. If you are planning to visit the Island of Madeira next month try to time your trip to coincide with the annual Madeira Open, an European Tour Event, which will be held from the 8th to the 11th of May.

The Irish airline Ryanair has announced that as from April the 1st they will have ten flights a week from Lisbon to the Algarve, and five flights a week from Lisbon to Oporto. This may come as a possible great relief as the national airline TAP has kept a virtual stranglehold on these connecting flights and inconveniencing many travellers for so many decades. This is especially true for past visitors to the Algarve from many European countries and the American continent. Travellers have often been forced to sit patiently in the Lisbon Airport for many hours before catching their connecting flight and arriving at their hotels in the Algarve very late at night. Hotel with Golf Package continued to be offered. and we can arrange a 3 Star hotel with golf from € 135.00, 4 Star hotels with golf from € 130.00, and 5-star hotels with golf from € 150.00. Your choice of hotel, dates and golfing needs, will determine the quoted price.
