Ricardo Santos won the Algarve Pro Tour at San Lorenzo by one stroke from Englishmen Sam Buss and David Dixon. In third place was another English golfer Adam Chapman with one further stroke.

By one stroke Irishman Padraig Harrington claimed his fifteenth victory on the European Tour in Vilamoura in the Algarve. Second was Englishman and defending champion Andy Sullivan. Third place was taken by Finnish golfer Mikko Korhonen on just the one stroke. further back. With this victory Padraig Harrington moved into 43rd position in the Race to Dubai and became 163rd place in the World Rankings.

Saturday, 10/Sep/2016The Rotary Club of Estoi held a charity tournament followed by a dinner at the Monte Rei Golf and Country Club. A total of sixty-six golfers participated and around € 6,000 was successfully raised for local charities.

The cost per golfer is € 60.00 to include the tournament, cocktails and dinner. After dinner there will be live music to dance to end the evening. Dinner and cocktails for non-players will be € 30.00.

Lions Club Tournament on the 20th of August
Monday, 25/Jul/2016On the 20th of August the Lions Club of Lagoa will hold its annual Stableford tournament over 18 holes on the Gramacho Course. The purpose of this event is to raise funds for needy locals and in particular to financially assist the Medical Student already studying at Porto University.

Million Dollar Hole in One
Monday, 29/Feb/2016Million Dollar Hole in One has announced that in 2015 they had a record of 10 hole in ones in Portugal, winning each successful golfer an all expenses paid trip to Las Vegas in June this year. Each winner will then have a chance to win $1m in a single shot on the famous Bali Hai Golf Club on Las Vegas Boulevard.
The Million Dollar Hole in One challenge can now be found on 20 courses across Portugal most of which are in the Algarve.

Senior Tour - Qualifying School - Finals
Friday, 5/Feb/2016Gary Marks led the field by one stroke in the final day of the European Senior Tour Qualifying Finals. It was a sunny but windy day with the latter at times tested the players in their placing abilities. Gary Marks from England, Barry Conser from the USA, Brenden McGovern from Ireland, Magnus Atlevi from Sweden and Ken Tarling from Canada earned their Senior Tour Cards and now have access to the European Senior Tour Schedule of events which includes the famous Carnoustie Course on the 21st of July.

Ricardo Santos received a much needed boost to his golfing confidence with his narrow one shot win on the 17th December at the San Lorenzo Classic in the Algarve after he lost his card on the main tour. This was a hard fought win over his fellow countryman and prolific APGT winner Tiago Cruz in an exciting finish.
